About microstates.net
Since I was young, I have always wanted to visit the worlds smallest nations, there's something intriguing about how these little nations and territories came to exist, to all extents and purposes they appear as though they should be part of a much bigger host country, however through quirks of history, we have ended up with some interesting small nations and territories, dotted all around the globe!
This project is about the world's tiny states and territories, under 6000 km2, which are not islands or military bases, but internationally recognised sovereign states and territories, these areas are often enclaves or exclaves and generally share a land border with another nation.
I have so far visited Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore* and the Vatican, I hope to visit all these states and territories as a 'bucket-list' thing. as I tick each country off the list, I'll be writing about my own experiences about that particular place.
Enjoy your visit!
*Note Singapore is connected to Malaysia by a land causeway.
